Tattler Canning Lids~ 12/1

Tired of buying new lids each year for the canning season? Did you know that there is BPA in the little rubber rings?

Solution

Tattler Reusable Canning Jar Lids

A scarcity of canning lids, causing a frustrating market condition for home canners in the mid 70's, led to exploring the feasability of a plastic reusable product. After various prototype experiments the current version of TATTLER Reusable Canning Lids was conceived. The product has proven to perform exactly as originally intended, to fill a need for those who wish to have a product on hand they can count on year after year, Made in the United States of America. You will never regret becoming one of the countless satisfied users of this product.

TATTLER Reusable Canning Lids were developed to fill a need for a reusable home canning jar lid. It does everything it is claimed to. We guarantee the TATTLER plastic lid to last a lifetime or we will replace it free. However, no customer has EVER made the request to replace a single lid.

TATTLER lids work in any accepted method of use, pressure cooker, boiler, etc. and they come with a rubber ring which is also re-usable, so long as it is not damaged (cut or stretched).

TATTLER lids are especially desirable for acid foods, pickles, peppers, tomatoes etc., since they will not corrode. We have only recently disposed of product that was canned over 20 years ago and they were still tightly sealed. (We did not and do not recommend use of food with extended age, this was only furnished as interesting info.)

TATTLER Reusable Canning Lids are exactly what we claim them to be, “REUSABLE!” Many of our customers have contacted us and told of more than 30 years use. I welcome you to visit our testimonial page and see for yourself.

The reusable nature of TATTLER lids is perfect for the home canner interested in saving money and time. They are also fantastic for those of us who wish to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. TATTLER Reusable Canning Lids fill a market need by providing a cost effective alternative to metal lids, as well as a safe, environmentally friendly product for your home food preservation. One very important factor regarding TATTLER lids is they are BPA FREE!

The current surge in home canning, and demand for TATTLER lids, has renewed our desire to continue production. The home canning industry continues to thrive, and has seen a recent resurgence due to economic conditions, individual resourcefulness, increased self sufficiency, and a bit of nostalgia.

TATTLER Reusable Canning Lids were designed because we knew they would work, over and over again. Try them for yourself, you’ll be satisfied. Guaranteed!

My Thoughts~

These are really neat and I am dying to try them but by the time I received them I already had my applesauce and apple butter done being canned. I am just waiting for and idea to strike me to find something in season and test these puppies out. I did have a Tomato date set to can but due to my friend I was canning with being sick we missed our window. BUT I am Still dying to check these out.

  11. Canned spinach? I normally would say pumpkin, until I recently learned that canning pumpkin at home is potentially deadly. o_0

  26. This is easy and yummy!

    Apple Butter:

    2 quarts apple pulp
    4 cups sugar
    2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves ** (I thought this was a bit strong and will use less next time)

Combine apple pulp, sugar, and spices in a large pot. Simmer slowly until mixture thickens and rounds up on a spoon. (May take a couple of hours.) Stir frequently. Ladle hot butter into jars, leaving 1/4-inch headspace. Put on lids and bands. Process in a hot water bath for ten minutes. For me, this makes about five and a half jars (half-pint size). You can double, triple, etc, the recipe to make as much as you want. Your house will smell great while it’s cooking!
