Topaz Heat~ ends 7/13 (11:59pm Eastern Time)

A Little bit about Hallee (from her Author Biography link) Hallee Bridgeman lives with her husband and their three children in small town Kentucky. Hallee started writing when her oldest child and only daughter was a baby, but a busy professional career and being the wife of a deployed soldier had her shelve her books for another time. Above all else, she loves God with all of her heart, soul, mind, and strength; has been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ; and relies on the presence of the Holy Spirit. She prays her books are a blessing to you and would love to hear back from you.

Topaz Heat is the Third book in the Jewel Trilogy and this book follows the youngest sister Sarah.  Since Sarah was very young and traumatized with the events that led up to her being taken into foster care and later adopted by a couple, she had grown up in the safety net of the loving couple who adopted her.  A sort of selective amnesia protected Sarah for many years until one day she is able to recall all the past events.  This recollection helps her to open her heart and get past her own prejudices of another.

This "other" goes by Derrick.  He is the struggling youth that Antonio "Tony" Viscolli comes across in the first book of  the series.  And Tony offers Derrick a way out.  From the moment Derrick Turns 18 and takes Tony up on his offer to find God and an honest way of life, Derrick is in love with Sarah.  Taking years till she looks past his bad boy image to the grown up and remade man, Derrick waits patiently on the sidelines.  When they finally do come together a skeleton from his past life threatens to break apart all the new possibilities before they start.

Read Sarah and Derrick's Adventure in this book.

Diva Cup~ ends 7/13 (11:59pm Eastern time)

*****WARNING WARNING WARNING***** This is a Post relating to and discussing Female Menstruals!!

What is a DivaCup?  A menstrual cup is a type of cup or barrier worn inside the vagina during menstruation to collect menstrual fluid. Unlike tampons and pads, the cup collects menstrual fluid rather than absorbing it. (Web Definition)

A little bit about the history of the Menstrual cup and DivaCup in general.  (from their site)
The menstrual cup was first developed in the 1930’s. It was made from rubber latex (an allergen for many). Millions were sold in those first years by multiple companies. Because of management issues, the companies closed and menstrual cups were hard to find. Then over 15 years ago, Francine recognized the need for an alternative to unreliable disposable tampons and pads and found a company offering menstrual cups. She and her daughter, Carinne, singlehandedlyresurrected the 75 year old menstrual cup concept by reintroducing this product to the world market when it was virtually unknown. They sold this rubber/latex version for 10 years.

In 2003, drawing on their experience and expert knowledge about the menstrual cup category, they developed a modern redesign, made from soft, top-quality silicone, to meet the needs of today’s woman. They launched their own company, Diva International. Their revolutionary concept, The DivaCup, is patent-pending and ISO certified. Today, The DivaCup is the preferred choice.
The DivaCup Team has many years of experience in natural feminine hygiene alternatives. Their passion is to provide women an environmentally responsible, convenient and reliable alternative to tampons and pads.

Our Thoughts~  I have been testing this for a couple of cycles.  I actually received it after one of my cycles and then had to wait around 34 days till I could actually try it.  I had the Diva Cup sitting in its pretty pouch that it comes with waiting and taunting me.  I was a bit nervous to try the Diva Cup.  I wasn't sure if I could place it right or if it would be comfortable.  With one a month till I could test it out I got pretty frazzled by all the questions in my head.
Surprisingly when my menstrual cycle came I reread the directions for the, hmmm, 100th time and proceed to test it out.  Amazingly after I had it placed I really couldn't feel it.  As a safety I did use a panty liner just incase because you really do need to gauge your own cycle and cup fill rate.  The product being used for a normal flow cycle is rated for about 10-12 hours of use before having to empty and replace.  During testing I was only on my second menstrual after my pregnant and nursing break (usually you don't get your period while pregnant and nursing, some people do but I haven't with any of my boys).  Since I was only on my second I was having a bit of a heavier flow than normal so I did find I needed to empty the cup around every 4-5 hours instead of going all the way through the 10-12 hour time frame.
Ok onto another fear.  Was I going to get it in there and not be able to get it out.  Well this too was a senseless worry.  As the Cup fills it does descend a little to make it easier to reach in and grab out. After removing the diva cup you dump the contents in the toilet and clean it out.  The DivaCup company does make a special DivaCup wash to clean your DivaCup.

About the DivaWash......
We recommend that The DivaWash be used to clean The DivaCup. We have formulated The DivaWash as a botanically-based, all natural cleanser that has been specifically designed to protect the integrity of the silicone material.
It is important to use only a natural, non-fragrance soap with The DivaCup. Many soaps leave a residue. These can leave a film on the cup that may cause irritation.
The DivaWash is:
  • Naturally pH balanced
  • Gentle: Ideal for sensitive skin
  • Concentrated formula: reduces the eco-footprint
  • 100% plant-based ingredients
  • No animal testing or animal ingredients
  • No parabens, sulfates or petrochemicals
Can be used daily as a facial cleanser or luxurious shower and bath gel.  The gentle formula leaves your Diva body clean, soft and never dry.
Personally, I recommend the DivaCup.  It is not only easy to use but environmentally and bodily friendly.  I say environmentally friendly because honestly think of how many tampons or pads you use throughout your cycle that is being put into landfills.  That is a pretty hefty about.  And just incase you don't already know I will tell you or remind you NEVER NEVER NEVER flush the tampons.  Honestly they are not made to go in the toilet they do not breakdown like toilet paper.

There are 2 sizes: Size 1 is for woman and teens who are under 30 and have never been pregnant.  Size 2 is for woman who have been pregnant or older than 30.

A little tip.  After you place your DivaCup rotate it for a full turn just to make sure it is all unfolded and placed correctly.

Tag*A*Long~ Ends 7/10 (11:59pm Eastern Time)

Ok Reviewing up a Great Product a Second Time..

Tag*a*longs are amazingly helpful.  Here is my previous write up on them.. Definitely check it out.

So what is a Tag*a*long? (from their site)

meet the tag*a*long: a simple, fun way for kids to walk comfortably next to a stroller.
attaching the tag*a*long requires no tools and will fit on most strollers, providing a dedicated and fun place to hold onto.
it also works on shopping carts, diaper bags, rolling luggage, and more.
the tag*a*long is made responsibly right here in the USA (pennsylvania to be exact)

...with an idea to make strolling with our walking little man a little easier.
a prototype made with supplies found at our local hardware store and testing done in and around the city of brotherly love.
we were so excited by what we found- we made more of them. these went to our baby having friends and the rest is- well, found below...
the tag*a*long was designed, developed, and manufactured in the USA by a mom and dad design duo from philadelphia pa. have fun.

Our Thoughts~
Since the last time I wrote about them they have added a couple new colors.  I got to try this time their Tangerine color.  I love how bright it is.  And As you can see I now have 2 Tag*a*long handles for my 2 walkers and I have 2 in the stroller.  We still use ours all the time.  Mostly when the 2 older guys start getting the wandering feet.  I try to give them some freedom but there are times when their feet have a mind of their own and their ears are turned off for the corrections.  That is when I have to grab hands and say ok it is time for you to grab your handle.

This is one of those brilliant inventions that you just sit back and say why didn't I think of that or why wasn't there one sooner.  But I am very glad they are here now. a Rafflecopter giveaway

Lunch Skins

Ok with school out for just over a week I am ready for the next school year to start.  Maybe I need to look into a Camp for my 2 older boys.  They are just crazy.  Well if you do send your kids to camp and have to pack a lunch have you ever thought of looking into Reusable Sandwich and Snack bags?

LunchSkins is a company that makes reusable Sandwich and Snack bags.  They are in adorable prints and are so easy to clean out.

How they began.. From their site.

While sitting around a kitchen table in 2008, we heard a staggering statistic - every day, more than 20 million sandwich bags from school lunches go into landfills in the US. We knew that many families were looking for easy, convenient ways to be green and avoid this kind of waste. So we put our passion and energy together and 3greenmoms was born. Our mission:to design a colorful, fresh alternative to the plastic baggie.
It seemed relatively easy... all we needed was a food-safe, dishwasher-friendly, moderately-attractive reusable bag. How hard could that be? Our number one priority was to find a food-safe fabric, so we went straight to the food industry. There, we found a very high-quality European fabric used by patisseries and bakeries certified as food-safe. Conveniently, this fabric is durable and withstands high heat, too - bingo! It can withstand repeated cycles in the dishwasher. We came up with some fresh, modern designs for those of us who want to dress up our bag lunch. Then, we found a family-owned manufacturer nearby in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
It all sounds logical, right? But, after many prototypes, sleepless nights, exhausting early morning flights and late evening telephone calls, we think we’re on the right track. Getting here wasn’t easy, but alas, our LunchSkins have put a fresh face on an old idea. It’s been a family affair with husbands, kids and friends sharing advice and support on a daily basis.
Whether you care about our environment, saving money, eating healthy, or looking stylish, LunchSkins are the answer to your plastic baggie blues -- they offer an environmental benefit (reduce landfill waste), a practical benefit (they can be used hundreds of times and save you money over the long run), and a healthy choice (food tastes better in a pastry bag). Welcome to our family!

Our Thoughts~  As I said above these are made in great prints.  They are durable and easy to clean out.  If your children are like our oldest than Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches are on the menu.  EVERYDAY.. I mean seriously EVERYDAY.  How he doesn't get tired of PB and J;  I have no Idea.  Well the constant sticky jelly inside is really easy to get out via hand wash and it even holds up in the dishwasher... BONUS!! :D   With the amount of children in school who pack lunch every day just think of how much TRASH that is.  This is our way of reducing our Carbon footprint.  Taking small steps like switching from plastic bags in the lunch box to Lunch Skins is easy why not take the small step.  I understand going green can be intimidating but one small step like this at a time and in no time you will be making the little larger steps to the bigger stuff.
My attempt at getting him to each something other than PB and J.  Just FYI it came back with out being touched that day.
Look how much grapes went in there.

Room to add his Granola bar, Yogurt and Water bottle.

Farm Rich~ Ends 6/30 (11:59pm Eastern Time)

It's the perfect scenario for "keeping 'em happy."

Website: www.farmrich.com

Our Thoughts~  At our home we tested 2 of Farm Rich's Products the Mozzarella Bites and the Original Meatballs

Mozzarella Bites
Our Farm Rich Mozzarella Bites are similar to our famous Cheese Sticks. In fact, they’re cousins. But they are a little bit different. For one, the cheese is surrounded by soft pizzeria dough, making it a tiny pillow of cheesy goodness. And the second thing is, they are, in fact, bite-sized, which is great for you.
- Made with 100% real mozzarella cheese
- Authentic pizza crust
- Good source of calcium and protein
- 0g trans fat per serving
- Microwaveable
- Also comes in a 44 oz value pack

The Mozzarella bites were so tasty that I am half tempted to just keep them for me the Momma.  These are fun to take out for a quick snack.  Just throw them in the oven and while they are in there you can warm up some marinara in the microwave for dipping or even a dipping Cheese or even Alfredo.  I originally tested these without dip but then the second time warmed up Alfredo for myself and Marinara for the boys and boy did we have fun dipping and snacking.

Farm Rich Original Meatballs

Original Meatballs

Say the word “meatball.” Are you smiling yet? It’s hard not to. And it’s really hard not to smile at a kitchen full of your favorite folks in meatball heaven. Serve Farm Rich Original Meatballs just as they are or in a special sauce. Break out the toothpicks and start counting the satisfied grins.
- With hearty ground beef and savory pork
- Seasoned to perfection
- Fully cooked
- Appetizer size
- Convenient, resealable packaging
- Microwaveable
- Also comes in a 60 oz value pack

The Original Meatballs are already fully cooked so they are super convenient to just toss in the microwave and heat some up while your pasta and sauce is on the stove.  Talk about a fast way to get a more rounded dinner on the table fast.  We made up some spaghetti and sauce and cooked up some meatballs and served with garlic bread and a side salad.  This is one of those OMG I AM SO TIRED meals that I can toss together or even my husband can make when I need a break.  Great to keep in your freezer at all time but just a pre warning they are so tasty that you may have to add them to your weekly grocery list so you know you always have them in there.  Not only do they make easy spaghetti and meatballs but toss them on a sub bun with some marinara and you have a great meatball sandwich. The possibilities are really limited to your own imagination.

If you are wondering where to find them try Super Target, that is where I found them here in Madison but you can check on their Product Finder link.

Emerald Fire~ ends 6/29 (11:59pm est)

Emerald Fire is the Second book in the Jewel Trilogy.  We already reviewed up the first book Sapphire Ice on our blog find it here.  The Jewel Series was written by Hallee Bridgeman.

A Little bit about Hallee (from her Author Biography link)
Hallee Bridgeman lives with her husband and their three children in small town Kentucky. When she’s not writing Christian romance novels, she blogs about all things cooking and homemaking at Hallee the Homemaker.
Hallee started writing when her oldest child and only daughter was a baby, but a busy professional career and being the wife of a deployed soldier had her shelve her books for another time. Two more children, a cross country move, and God’s perfect timing brought the books off of the shelf to be dusted off and presented to you now.
Hallee loves coffee, campy action movies, and regular date nights with her husband. Above all else, she loves God with all of her heart, soul, mind, and strength; has been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ; and relies on the presence of the Holy Spirit.  She prays her books are a blessing to you and would love to hear back from you.

Now onto Emerald Fire.  The Jewel Series follows 3 Sisters and Emerald Fire follows Maxine Bartlett the middle sister.  Along with her eldest sister Robin, Maxine has lived a rough childhood.  She has never trusted men though through the first book you hear mention to her many datings and loves she is never really in love.  The thought of intimacy with anyone scares her.

After a spontaneous marriage to a close friend who recently has lost his faith in God and has been living a very hard previous loveless marriage, Maxine finds strength in God to help her new husband find peace.  This journey is a rough journey for both Maxine and her husband because Barry her husband is trying to distance himself and get the marriage annulled out of what other people might think.  With God's Love and Guidance Maxine finds the strength to draw them both back together and living together, but what really awakens Barry is more the thought of not being able to keep Maxine.  To find out why you have to read the book yourself.

Honestly, I can't give it all away and it really is too in depth to capture in a few sentences.  I think this book is great.  Another romance guided by God.  Truly a breathtaking and captivating story to read.

How does your Garden Gro? GroO Garden planner

Gardens! Gardens! Gardens!

It is that time of year again.  Time to get your Gardens weeded, aerated, filled and planted.  Granted here in Wisconsin we start a bit later than others since we are in a colder climate.  To really get a good yield up here you need to start with seedlings that have already been growing for a while indoors.  Personally I have had both seeds in the ground and planted seedlings in my 10'x5' raised bed.  And it is my opinion that the ones that I started or that were started earlier definitely put out more yummy food than the one's I started from seed.
I know sparse but Honestly I wanted a walk way.. I did lump them a little different in the garden you will see below.

To help with Layout this year GroO has let us check out their GroO Garden Planner Tool.

Here are some of the features of the Garden Planning Tool:

  • Growing information: Just click for full details of how to grow each plant, where to position them, etc.
  • Number of Plants: Clearly shown by the number at the top of each plant square
  • Personalized Planting Chart: You get a chart showing when each plant will be planted and harvested. Our advanced system works out the dates for your own area.
  • Reminder Emails: You can have emails sent reminding you what needs planting in your garden (optional)
  • Easy Crop Rotation: The Garden Planner remembers each year's crops and advises where to place them next year
  • Succession Planting: See which crops will follow others and view your plan for each month of the year
  • Add Notes: Like a garden journal you can add notes on how each plant did
  • Intuitive Use: Works just like software you are familiar with, including features such as copy and paste
  • Tutorial Videos: Quick built-in videos show you just what you need to know to get the most out of the software... (From their Site)
Our thoughts~  I like this tool.  You can see how things will work in your garden and how much space to give them.  We personally did not put a lot of plants in our garden this year.  I wanted some space to get in there without worrying about stepping on another plant.   Plus I am very fickle and couldn't figure out what all I wanted to plant.  I got plants this year already started for me because if you heard or remember from last year that I tired to start plants in my window sill that ended up being blown over and lost. :(  So this year I thought I would let someone else do the work. So "Garden To Be" was just the place for me.  They start the plants organically and are not to far of a drive away.  PERFECT.  Ok Back to the tool.  The Garden planner is great you just enter in your dimensions and best of all your location and then you start pulling what items you are planting from the tool bar above.
My Planting Helpers.  Sadly this is the only spot that get sun most of the day at our house.  :D

When you click on the plants it shows you how many you can plant in a square foot.  By entering your location they know your planting zone and when you should start your seeds outdoors or when to transplant your plants from outdoors to indoors.

Did you know that not only do we garden but one of my favorite TV Couples is big in Gardening and growing food for their family.  Tori and Dean Use GroO to help them Grow food for their family. Check out this video.

You can check out the Garden Planner by going to their site and playing with the sample garden.

Himalayan Salt Lamp~ (ends 6/22 11:59pm Eastern Time)

Himalayan Salt Shop

This review was done by DonnasDealsAndMore

I was super excited to do a review on a Salt Lamp from the Himalayan Salt Shop! Do you suffer from allergies, asthma and/or breathing problems? I do. I don't get sick that often, but when I do it's a sinus infection and it happens during season changes. I had heard about the Salt Lamps on Doctor Oz (read article HERE).  What is so great about Salt Lamps? These wonderful products actually cleanse the air. They work the same way as synthetic ionizing machines. When the salt is heated (by either a bulb or flame) it releases negative ions into the air. Those ions bond with the positively charged ions of pollutants and allergens which neutralizes them. These lamps have been show to help people with asthma, allergies, and a host of other diseases.
Himalayan Salt Shop  Not only do they cleanse the air, but they're really pretty too! I keep the blinds open for natural light during the day and in the evening I turn on the Salt Lamp. It creates such a beautiful glow. I have received many compliments on mine. There is no "scent" that emits from the lamp. These really do make awesome gifts for just about anyone! To purchase one for yourself or someone else, check them out HERE One of you lucky readers will be receiving your very own Himalayan Salt Shop Lamp! *Open to US residents, must be 18 yrs or older *Disclosure: I received no compensation for this publication. My opinions are my own and may differ from those of your own. The Klauer Review is not responsible for sponsor prize shipment.  a Rafflecopter giveaway

Freestyle Spooner Board~ends 6/18 (11:59pm Eastern)

Ok so we have been working on this review for a while and I hate to review items so long but honestly I think our family is not very coordinated for this.  We have had hours of giggles over this Spooner board and now are finally getting a bit braver on it so I could get photos.  So here we go.  Hearth Song sent us a Freestyle Spooner Board for review.

Here is a promo Video so you can get an idea of all the fun tricks.  We have tried a few but have not mastered any so I thought a pro video would be better than us trying to demo.. lol

Product Description from their site.

The Spooner Board makes it fun for riders of all abilities to practice catching a wave, riding the slopes, or burning up the pavement— right in their yard or living room. Its symmetrical scoop makes it a great way for kids to get exercise while it improves balance and coordination, core stability, and gross motor skills. It's fun, safe, and virtually indestructible. It even works in the snow!

The Green 28" Pro Spooner is great for boarders over 4 feet tall, but is safe for all heights.

The Blue 24" Freestyle Spooner is ideal for boarders under 4 feet tall, but can be used by taller riders, too.

• Made in USA
• Sorry, gift wrap not available

For ages 3 and up.

Sizes
Pro (28"L)
Freestyle (24"L)

First let's talk about Hearth Song.  I LOVE this site and their sister sites like Magic Cabin.  They have amazing kid products that just engage our kids.  As I said above we have been testing out this product a while because we really wanted to get a handle on it.  I think it would be a bit easier for older kids maybe 8-10 age range our eldest is a newly 6 year old so his body coordination is not quite developed yet.  But this Freestyle Spooner Board has given him a lot of time to work on his balance and coordination.

As you can see our tester Mr. Isaac is trying to attempt a spin.

I like that there are foot grips on the board so it sticks to your feet a little better than a smooth item would.  It is fun to practice skate board, surfing and even snowboarding style tricks.  Along with just basic kid fun or "what can I do with this?"  Pretty much hours of fun with this item.  There is so much to try.  The Board comes packaged with a few how to tricks.
