About:

My family
Hi I thought I would do a little post about me the writer. I have recently decided to stop thinking about starting a review blog and just start it already. There is a lot of stuff involved and a lot of talking to people and businesses willing to put up stuff for Review and giveaway in hopes to generate more business. So far I have met an amazing response to my inquiries and have a lot of great stuff to giveaway to my readers.
For me personally I am a Stay at home mother of 3 sweet boys all under the age of 4.5. We live in Madison WI. We recently got family photos done by one of my wonderful mommy friends Rebecca at Appleby photography. She is an amazing photographer here in Madison WI and has generously allowed me to post some of our photos she has done for us. Feel free to go to her website and check out more of her amazing work. I really love that she is not a photographer bound by a studio. Don't get me wrong her studio is amazing but I really love that she will take you on different locations around the city. I am a little sad we didn't get to get some Capital shots this go round but they were having an Art fair on the Square and Traffic was crazy. We did still get to get out and get some great outside photos on the grass knoll by her studio. Well here are some of the wonderful photos she has done for us.

Our 3 Handsome boys.

This was a photo Becky (godmother) did for Adam and I for his Baptism present.

I hope everyone likes the new site and I can't wait till we grow and expand. Feel free to pass us on to friends and if you know of a business or company that would like to be featured pass us or them on.. Thanks again and keep reading and entering.

New Self Renewal~ends 8/10

New Self Renewal Center
(Note~ This facility is in Madison WI please know that you would need to be able to go to the Facility for you giveaway winning)

From the New Self Renewal Centers web page.
About them.

Discover a Unique Place for You & Your Family

New Self Renewal CenterA single drop of water falling into a still pool creates a ripple effect as its impact circles outward. Day after day your life is like this drop of water: each day is a still pool. Your family, friends, work and responsibilities are the rippling circles. Sometimes you pour yourself into life so forcefully that peace eludes you. You lose your center and feel less and less equipped to handle the daily demands in each area of your life.

New Self Renewal Center provides a community that offers both fitness and rest, focusing on health and wellness for the whole person. It is designed to give people an opportunity to rejuvenate, grow and connect with others by offering fitness classes and personal training, spa services, a cafe and childcare. New Self offers affordable solutions for the entire family.

My Thoughts~ New Self Renewal Center is a complete package, Gym, spa, luxury, wellness and more. I have visited on two occasions and have fallen for this little center. Tucked away off Odana road area this center offers great fitness classes, childcare, amazing shower facilities, cafe' and more. I tried 2 classes, the first being Zumba which is a dance inspired work out that focuses on different muscle groups to achieve fat burning and sculpting results at the same time. The second class I attended was CORE class. Wow was my core sore the next day. It was an intense work out for not only your ab muscles but your back, shoulders, arms and legs. The instructors of both classes were great at explaining the motions ahead of time along with making sure as a new comer you are doing it right and not feeling overwhelmed. After your work out you have amazing Swedish showers to relax and clean up from your work out. There is the top shower head along with 3 spouts that massage the length of you while you shower. Stepping out of the shower you wrap yourself in their super soft complimentary towel service to dry off. If all of this is not enough to entice you to try this fitness center than here is some icing they have childcare that is free to members for 2 hours and 45 mins time slots allowing you to work out, clean up, grab refreshments from their cafe and unwind. Unlike some other centers, the kid corner will change diapers so your work out is uninterrupted and give any snacks, bottles, or drinks you bring for your kids to them at the table if they get hungry or thirsty. And I am still not done. This facility also has spa services, a quiet room, and free Internet at the cafe. All in all I was so impressed with this facility they have such a warm community feel that just reads relaxation and health.

Teething Bling ~ ends 8/10

Teething Bling
by Smart mom Jewelry

From Smart mom Jewelry site~

mothers and babies holding Teething Bling Jewelry

Our Commitment to Safety

Teething Bling ® pendants, bangles and keychains are made from the same silicone as most teething toys; for example - the 'coated' infant spoons we all use. Our products contain no harmful chemicals such as phthalates, BPAs, PVCs, lead or latex and all pendants come with a breakaway clasp as an added safety measure. We are CPSIA compliant, carry the CE mark (meaning we meet the strict European safety standards as well) and our materials are federally approved. Safety is our number one concern - and all test reports are available upon request.

Occasionally a customer will ask if Teething Bling ® is appropriate for a child of a certain age. Our products are designed for adults to wear to soothe and entertain babies with emerging teeth. Children with fully developed teeth may be able to bite through Teething Bling ®. Therefore, parents must determine what is best for their own situation and child and as always, we remind everyone that children - of any age - should never be left unattended with jewelry of any kind.

My Thoughts~

Kendra and Amy sent me a beautiful Teething bling necklace to test out on my little teether. Like a lot of moms I know we give up jewelery when our kiddos reach the age of grab and pull, in fear that they will rip our nice jewelry from our necks or chew on jewelery that really isn't meant to put in your mouth. These necklaces are not only fashionable and come in many colors but they are meant for those little teethers to chew on them and play with them. They come with a safety release in the back if you little one pulls a little to hard. My sweet tester not only loves to chew on it but has a great time just playing with the necklace. In my opinion, this necklace is a mommy staple.

Arbonne Giveaway ~Ends 8/10

Arbonne
Rep- Sarah Key

Note from Sarah

Why I love Arbonne…
Hi my name is Sarah Key and I’m an Independent Consultant with Arbonne International. If you haven’t heard about Arbonne yet you are definitely in for a treat! We are a 30 year old Swiss Skincare, Health, and Wellness Company that is committed to bringing pure, safe, beneficial products to you and your family. We use botanicals and science to give you amazing products with results. And to back it up we have a 45 Day Money Back Guarantee on our products!

Sharing these unequaled products with people is one of the best parts of what I do. I get to pamper wonderful people while educating them in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Whether in my home or yours I get together with you and a few of your friends to educate you about our products, pamper you with things like hand scrubs, facials, and foot soaks all in a relaxed, fun atmosphere! We all need an hour or two to get away from the stress of our daily lives and just relax. And not only is it’s FREE, you are rewarded with wonderful hostess gifts! But the best part of my business is sharing this amazing opportunity with people who need it and want it. If that is you I would love to sit down and share
the possibilities with you.

~My Thoughts~

I had the privilege to try a few of Arbonne's many products.
Their ABC (Arbonne Baby Care) line is super gentle. I tried it on my eczema spots that react to almost everything. The Baby lotion is a smooth not heavy lotion that I think has a little hint of a scent but it is so faint that you really don't notice it. So you can wear it and not smell like the typical baby lotion smell. I still haven't put my finger on what I think the hint of scent is but unless you are sniffing your arm you really can't smell anything. Again it is super gentle and I put it on and the next day didn't have the typical irritation I normally have with a lot of products on my eczema spots. I also like their Diaper rash cream on my 2nd son. He is also plagued with eczema and normal diaper creams make his rashes worse and the Arbonne brand really helped sooth the area and not make it worse. Definitely a product I would recommend for any sensitive bumm.

Another product I got to test out was the RE9 Advanced body wash and firming cream. I was a little nervous to try them as mentioned before because of my eczema but I tried it on my stomach I figured after 3 kids that area could use a little firming. I have noticed my skin softer but I am not sure yet on the firming I need to give it more time but I definitely love how it makes my tummy feel. It seems to also sooth out the wrinkles so maybe that is the firming action starting. I can't wait to see the difference in another week.

For a little pampering I tried the fortifying hair Mask. Talk about a spa retreat in your shower. Just wash your hair and then add the mask liberally let it sit 5 min while you relax and steam or wash you body. Rinse. I added conditioner on the end to finish my shower. My hair is soft and less frizzy. A great little pick me up for your locks.

The last product I have tried so far is the purifying sea soak. Instead of using it for the whole tub I did a foot soak with it and it was a soothing me time adventure. As moms we don't take much time for ourselves but this foot soak just fill up a container with warm water and put in your soak powder, lock your bathroom door and just relax.. I would suggest putting a warm wash cloth over your face and your iPod in your ears and it is your own little getaway in your home. Again don't forget to lock the bathroom door or you may have a few visitors during your me time.

The best thing is that they do have a 45 day money back guarantee especially if you are someone who does well with products but then has a reaction a week or even longer later. Arbonne is so confident that their products are safe for you and that you will not react that they offer this guarantee.

Steri-Bottle Giveaway Ends Aug 3rd

Steribottle
by http://www.steribottle.ca

From the Manufacturer

(Taken from Amazon)
Steribottle
Imagine if you don't have to wash or sterilize baby bottles or nipples anymore. Imagine the convenience of a disposable diaper but for baby bottles. Trusted by UK parents since 2000, Steri-bottle is the safe and simple way to feed your baby anytime, at home, or on the move. is 100% BPA-free and phthalate-free, and is 100% recyclable. Steri-bottle is designed with care in the U.K. and made with pride in the USA. Each package contains 5 or 10 complete bottles and nipples. Steri-bottle is pre-sterilized and ready to use out of the box because the bottles and nipples are manufactured at high heat in a clean-room facility in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. No human hands touch the sterile bottles and nipples - the manufacturing and packaging process is automated. Use Steribottle when traveling. You used to pack an extra bag with clean bottles, nipples, brushes, and maybe even a sterilizing kit. You used to stay up late washing bottles when everyone else was asleep. Now, just open the Steri-bottle package, remove one pre-sterilized bottle and nipple. They're ready to use. Fill the bottle, warm it up, close the lid, and feed your child. When you're done, you can recycle the entire Steri-bottle. Use Steri-bottle at home. It's 3 a.m. – it's time for a routine feed. Suddenly, you realize that there are no sterilized bottles in the cupboard. And you have to be at work in the morning and desperately want a few more minutes of sleep. There's no need to spend up to 10 minutes or more washing used bottles while half-asleep. Now you can just reach for a Steri-bottle. Open the box, take out a pre-sterilized bottle and nipple. Fill, close, and feed. This has taken you 10-15 seconds. Steri-bottle has been feeding babies and saving U.K. Moms and dads thousands and thousands of hours of bottle washing and sterilizing. When you can enjoy a few more moments, or go back to sleep faster, you will see why we say that Steribottle saves you time and more.

My Thoughts~
I was a little confused at first about this product but after trying it they are pretty convenient for a number of occasions. Examples being day trips to the park, zoo, beach, vacations, childcare facilities. Great for all those times that you know you might lose your bottle or have forgotten to take a bottle along.
They are easy one use pre sterilized bottles and they do mean one use. When taking one bottle out of the package I was checking it out and seeing how it went together by snapping it on to the base. Satisfied that I knew how to put it together I tried to open it again to pour the milk in. When opening the bottle back up the plastic lip around the rim breaks off which is why this is truly a one time only bottle.

The bottle has a wide base nipple to more closely mimic the breast and it comes with an Anti-colic valve to help release the gas inside the bottle so that the baby doesn't suck in a lot of air.
These bottles are 100% recyclable so once the bottle is emptied you simply toss the whole thing in the recycling can. I would recommend this for a number of occasions.

My little tester!

Itzbeen Giveaway - Ends Aug 3rd

http://www.itzbeen.com/

Itzbeen Baby Care Timer

From the Manufacture~

The ITZBEEN Baby Care Timer has a host of helpful features all designed with the new parent in mind. As every new parent knows, your memory is one of the first things to go when a newborn arrives. The ITZBEEN Baby Care Timer is a multi-purpose tool that helps you remember the basic details of baby care. ITZBEEN has four timers that count up with the touch of a buttonso you will always know how long it's been!

Winner of the JPMA 2007 Innovative Award

My Thoughts~ With 3 boys we bought this to help make sure nothing slipped through the cracks. Sometimes when you are busy with one active child the subtle cues of the baby are missed. I found myself trying to juggle my 2 big guys and guess what is wrong with the little one. This timer helped alleviate some of the guess work. I love how there are 3 separate timers Diaper, Feeding, and sleep and then they throw on the little machine an extra timer. We have used that extra timer for a number of different things some of them include Oven timer (for those casseroles that take and hour to bake and you are running around outside playing with the kids), Potty training timer (this is a big help to make sure that he got on the potty in a certain time frame), diaper changes for our other son since we had 2 diapers at the same time and medication.

Timer~ This timer works 2 ways for you. You can set it by saying I need an alarm to sound at X hours and it is also a count up timer. You do not have to set an alarm but I really enjoy this feature because it is a little audio reminder making sure you don't forget to change the diaper or give that next dose of antibiotics. The timer starts at 1 hour and then works up in 30 min intervals up to 24 hours. I honestly think that the only thing I would change on the device would be to start the timer at 30 min instead of 1 hour. For beginning potty trainers we do 30 min intervals to get to the potty and work our way up and of course a 30 min cat nap when all the babies are sleeping is nice so I think a 30 min start point would be nice.

Other features~ This device comes with a light on the front at the top great for getting up in the middle of the night and navigating the dark hallways to the babies room and for those night time changes that you don't want to completely wake up the baby or yourself by turning on a big light. There is also a Back light button to illuminate the timer screen. There are 3 slide buttons on the device. One for nursing moms to help us keep track of what side we used last and if you nurse on both sides in one feeding it will help to know what side you ended on so you can start on that side the next time. A slide button to turn on or off the audible alarm and a slide button to lock the device just in case you bump it or jostle it around in the diaper bag or if those little fingers find it and start pushing buttons.

We love our Itzbeen Baby Care Timer we took it with us to Disneyworld this last April and it was great to help with all the commotion of rides and lines especially with our Eldest who was still learning his potty control.

To Dos.. We are cooking up some baby food.

Hi I am cooking up some babyfood today.. Buying baby food is one thing.. But Making it is Fun too.. here are some recipes we are making.

Mel-Ana 8+ months

1/2 cantaloupe cubed
4 Bananas halved

Put fruit in food processor and blend to the consistency your baby is taking. Right now we are pretty Lumpy and getting ready to start more solid food items and pick up food.

Squaccoli Recipe taken from NurtureBaby

(6-9 Months)

So, it’s fun to say. And it’s a delicious way to introduce greens into your little one's diet, as the mild, sweet winter squash tones down the strong broccoli flavor.
1 medium winter squash*
1 tbsp olive oil
1 medium stalk broccoli
1/3 cup water
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Cut winter squash in half; scoop out seeds. Coat squash halves in olive oil and bake for 60 minutes, or until flesh is soft.
Meanwhile, cut broccoli into small pieces and put in steamer. Steam for 5-6 minutes, or until broccoli is tender.

Let cooked winter squash cool to the touch and scoop out flesh from skin. Place peeled squash in blender, along with broccoli florets and blend until completely smooth. Add water if necessary to achieve desired consistency.
Distribute mixture evenly amongst ice cube trays or cupcake tins, dependent upon desired portion size.
*You can substitute fresh winter squash with frozen, organic pureed winter squash. It’s readily available at most grocery stores and makes for a great time saver! Just heat squash in microwave and add to pureed broccoli.

Hearty Beef Stew Recipe taken from NurtureBaby and modified (one of my favorite sites)

(9-12 Months)

This recipe could not be easier to prepare, as you cook all the ingredients in a slow cooker. Once pureed, it’s creamy, meaty texture is divine.
1 small onion, diced
4 cups of homemade vegetable stock*
5-6 small red potatoes, diced
(we suggest leaving the skins on for added nutrition)
½ lb. organic lean beef, diced (Can use sirloin or “mock” tenderloin)
1 sprig of fresh thyme
2 carrots peeled and diced
*Can substitute with organic, low sodium stock. However, to ensure gluten free version, use homemade.
Add all ingredients to a slow cooker and simmer 5-6 hours on low. Let stew cool once completely cooked. Remove thyme stem and add to food processor. Puree until you reach desired consistency.
Disperse into ice cube trays or cupcake tins and cool. Freeze, remove from tin, and store in freezer bags or reusable plastic containers.

~~~ I am adding Carrots to the mix too...
Lavender Lab Review
Taken from Amazon~
From the Manufacturer
Nestled inside Lavender lab's plush head, back and bottom are aromatherapy packets filled with 100% Lavender which produces an aroma that lasts up to five years. Made with the softest Velboa fabric, Lavender Lab can be placed on baby's crib or your bed during the day, then moved to bedside for naps and nighttime sleep. To release additional scent, gently squeeze Lavender Lab's head, back or bottom. The all natural sleep benefits for Lavender are time tested and scientifically proven. Lavender Lab is truly the perfect companion, and the perfect accessory for your pillow as well. Simply squeeze Lavender Lab then place on your pillow during the day and when it is time for sleep you will be treated to a wonderfully soft lavender aroma that will help you and your family float away into a peaceful slumber. This is one Labrador you will always want on your bed. Designed to help baby and parents sleep through the night.
My Thoughts.. I bought this Cloud b Lavender Lab with Scented Lavender Sleep Aid because my 9mt old was still waking about 3-4 times a night. Knowing that Lavender has natural relaxing properties I decided to give it a whirl. We are on 3 nights of use with the Cloud b Lavender Lab with Scented Lavender Sleep Aid and so far Adam has slept for longer stretches at a time.. Working toward sleeping through the night and I have noticed him to be less crabby through the day. I place the Cloud b Lavender Lab with Scented Lavender Sleep Aid in his crib all day and before bed I fluff him a little to release more of the smell into the crib and on the sheets. I personally leave the Cloud b Lavender Lab with Scented Lavender Sleep Aid in the crib at night because Adam is old enough and moves around enough to not be suffocated.. But if I was using Cloud b Lavender Lab with Scented Lavender Sleep Aid for younger children I would suggest moving it out of the crib as to reduce suffocation risks. If the first few days are any indication I think we are well on our way to a calmer sleeping through the night baby. I will update in a week to let you know more of how it is going.
Time Out Pad
Time Out Pad
Made by The Gro Company
http://www.gro.co.uk/
From the Manufacture~ The Time Out Pad is a pressure sensitive pad with a built in timer that helps parents monitor time outs. This simply works by adjusting the timer for one to five minutes and by pressing the start button. Its countdown will start when the child sits on the Time Out Pad and if the child stands up before the countdown has ended, an alarm sounds until they sit back down. This features red, yellow, and green lights that provide a visual countdown signaling the last 30 seconds of the time out. The Time Out Pad comes with a positive parenting guide including 5 steps to successful time outs. It requires two AA batteries which are not included.
My thoughts. I originally purchased this product because I have 3 children ages 4 and under. One of who is a nurser. I have found that my kids know the exact time that I can't watch and make sure they are staying put in their time out spot. Examples being nursing, cooking dinner, changing diapers, switching over the laundry, you know all the everyday activities that we parents do while watching our precious ones. I found this product and bought 2 actually for those often times that both of the older children are getting in trouble together.
It is really simple to use and even comes with a 5 step guide to successful time outs. You give your warning. Explain that if they do it again they will go to time out. If they do it again you grab your time out pad and set the dial to the desired minutes (1 minute per year of age of the child) push the start button and place the child on the pressure sensor. There is a wonderful little Red, Yellow, Green light for the children to watch their progress and an alarm for when your child gets up which is a wonderful feature so that you don't have to be in the same room you can just listen to make sure they don't get up. If they do you are alerted and the timer stops until they are seated back on the pressure sensor.
Con~To set the dial for the timer you need to use a coin to change the numbers which is a little bit of a pain when you are switching between a 2 year old and a 4 year old but it was made this way to keep little fingers from messing with timer.
But all in all a great product I bought mine from Amazon Time Out Pad - Blue
