I have been researching better ways to stay on a food budget and get healthy, wholesome food. Personally our family has a really loose food budget. I usually try to keep our weekly grocery bill around $75 for the 5 of us and around $90 when my brother is with us during the school year. I use coupons, make a meal plan for the week and my shopping list for the week. So in my estimated budget I get stuff that is needed for the week and I try to stock up on good deals for meat and sales of pantry canned goods. After reading Real Food on a Real Budget I am rethinking and reworking my whole Food Planning and budget. This book helps break down meal planning on a monthly, bi weekly or weekly basis, buying in bulk, making homemade, canning and more. As our family grows I see that we need a stricter sense of good food going into our growing boys and with that and their big appetites I need to stay on budget. There are so many good points and thoughts I am going to probably print out my ebook copy so I can underline, review, highlight and posti mark all of the great suggestions. At first glance and first read it is a little over whelming because taking the ideas and putting them into action for me feels like a big task. But I am going to break it down one thing at a time. You can't move a mountain in one swoop it is easier one boulder at a time and I suggest that is how you approach your own overhaul. With Stephanie Langford's Real Food on A Real Budget you will be well on your way to deciding what is most important for your family and placing it into action.
