GumDrop Baby Pacifier

First off we took a little hiatus. Mostly due to being pregnant and 3 boys wearing me out to the point of exhaustion. So posts will still be coming along with Giveaways sprinkled in here and there but we are going to try to spread it out a little bit for energy and time reasons.. Thanks....

Now for todays Review

GumDrop Baby Pacifier made by The First Years company.

The GumDrop Baby Pacifier is designed with the same nipple style and all in one style of the Soothie pacifier. The GumDrop has a newer design with the contoured shape to fit the baby's face and a dipped area for the nose. Unlike the Soothie where the shape was rigid and round making it hard for some babies to keep the pacifier in their mouths.

Our Thoughts~ I like this pacifier. It comes in 2 sizes Newborn 0-3mts and then Infant 3+ months. It is a great pacifier for easy transition between breast and pacifier because the long nipple closely resembles mom while nursing. I really like that they improved the design of the Soothie without taking away the benefits of the Soothie. For example the all in one design and the full silicon body. Those 2 elements are great when it comes to washing and sterilizing the pacifier because no water/germy water will get stuck in-between the nipple and the shield position. The GumDrop also has a nice protruding piece with a hole in it for easy attachement of your pacifier clip to help keep those pesky pacifiers in one location.

When testing the GumDrop Pacifier we got to also test out First Years Pacifier Attacher. I really enjoy their style because there is no velcro or snaps you just loop it through the whole in the GumDrop Pacifier and then through itself to make a slip type knot so older babies can't just take it apart easily. We also tried out their Pacifier Wipes and cute little holder case. Personally I am not too much of a germ-a-phob that I can't just pick it up pop it in my mouth and be on my way but there are places that I wouldn't want to do that (dirty restraraunt floors, mulch and dirt from an outdoor play ground and so on). Not only does the case hold the wipes with an easy accesss velcro section but it also has a spot to hold 2 GumDrop Pacifiers as back ups for you little one just in case.

  1. To comment on this. I bought the gumdrops and do like them because they are easy to clean. My husband complained because the baby wouldn't keep it in his mouth and I actually like that because the 5 month old is already pacifier free. The difference I found in the circle and the GumDrop design is that the circular Soothie touched the tip of my baby's nose encouraging him to suck more than the butterfly did. I also thought the Soothies were a softer plastic than the GumDrop.
