Making baby food is a great gift to give the environment and your baby. Consider the GREEN facts:
ORGANIC - Organic fruits and vegetables are the best choice for making baby food. They are the most natural ingredients and organic foods drastically reduce harm to the environment.
LESS WASTE - When you make your own baby food, there are no jars, labels or metal lids to dispose or to recycle.
NO FACTORY REQUIRED - Just a little energy to steam foods and run a blender is all you need to make your baby's meals! Did someone say near 'zero' greenhouse gases?
LOCAL - Your baby's food does not need to trucked to you from a factory thousands of miles away. Instead you can simply buy organic produce from your local farm market and get started.
HEALTHY - Homemade baby food is safe & nutritious. Baby food jars are often lined with Bisphenol-A, a controversial hormone disruptor that should be avoided. In addition, homemade baby food has no preservatives, additives, or chemicals - it is pure and natural goodness.
If you are looking to reduce your carbon footprint making organic baby food is a great way to go. Plus homemade baby food tastes great. Who knows? Your baby may grow up to love brussels sprouts and mangoes!
I not only make my baby food because it is cost efficient and healthy but because it is fun too. I love experimenting with different flavor profiles for the kids. Fresh baby has 2 great cook books that I usually work from.
So Easy Baby Food
is a combination cookbook and that provides parents with an easy-to-follow, personalized guide to making baby food at home. It is fun, easy and convenient to make baby food at home. So Easy Baby Food will show you how to do it in less than 30 minutes per week.
So Easy Toddler Food
- 48 page Toddler cookbook
- Family-friendly, simple recipes making it convenient to make healthy meals
- 35 recipes with photos and USDA nutrition facts information
- Practical advice and tips for toddler eating behaviors and healthy eating
Freezer Trays
They also have a great tray system that is covered with a lid so that you baby food can store in the freezer free of frost bite and freezer smells getting into your food.
Here is one of the recipes I did and some photos..
This is a photo inside to cookbook I wanted to feature this because I love how they have places for you to write when you introduced the recipe. And if you combined it with other ingredients there is a place to write when it was introduced and if your child liked it.
