How does your Garden Gro? GroO Garden planner

Gardens! Gardens! Gardens!

It is that time of year again.  Time to get your Gardens weeded, aerated, filled and planted.  Granted here in Wisconsin we start a bit later than others since we are in a colder climate.  To really get a good yield up here you need to start with seedlings that have already been growing for a while indoors.  Personally I have had both seeds in the ground and planted seedlings in my 10'x5' raised bed.  And it is my opinion that the ones that I started or that were started earlier definitely put out more yummy food than the one's I started from seed.
I know sparse but Honestly I wanted a walk way.. I did lump them a little different in the garden you will see below.

To help with Layout this year GroO has let us check out their GroO Garden Planner Tool.

Here are some of the features of the Garden Planning Tool:

  • Growing information: Just click for full details of how to grow each plant, where to position them, etc.
  • Number of Plants: Clearly shown by the number at the top of each plant square
  • Personalized Planting Chart: You get a chart showing when each plant will be planted and harvested. Our advanced system works out the dates for your own area.
  • Reminder Emails: You can have emails sent reminding you what needs planting in your garden (optional)
  • Easy Crop Rotation: The Garden Planner remembers each year's crops and advises where to place them next year
  • Succession Planting: See which crops will follow others and view your plan for each month of the year
  • Add Notes: Like a garden journal you can add notes on how each plant did
  • Intuitive Use: Works just like software you are familiar with, including features such as copy and paste
  • Tutorial Videos: Quick built-in videos show you just what you need to know to get the most out of the software... (From their Site)
Our thoughts~  I like this tool.  You can see how things will work in your garden and how much space to give them.  We personally did not put a lot of plants in our garden this year.  I wanted some space to get in there without worrying about stepping on another plant.   Plus I am very fickle and couldn't figure out what all I wanted to plant.  I got plants this year already started for me because if you heard or remember from last year that I tired to start plants in my window sill that ended up being blown over and lost. :(  So this year I thought I would let someone else do the work. So "Garden To Be" was just the place for me.  They start the plants organically and are not to far of a drive away.  PERFECT.  Ok Back to the tool.  The Garden planner is great you just enter in your dimensions and best of all your location and then you start pulling what items you are planting from the tool bar above.
My Planting Helpers.  Sadly this is the only spot that get sun most of the day at our house.  :D

When you click on the plants it shows you how many you can plant in a square foot.  By entering your location they know your planting zone and when you should start your seeds outdoors or when to transplant your plants from outdoors to indoors.

Did you know that not only do we garden but one of my favorite TV Couples is big in Gardening and growing food for their family.  Tori and Dean Use GroO to help them Grow food for their family. Check out this video.

You can check out the Garden Planner by going to their site and playing with the sample garden.
